Seal Beach Property Management

Discover Seal Beach

Originally this city was a port town where the wines grown in nearby Anaheim could be shipped from and was called Anaheim Landing. In 1905 local real estate investors named the city “Bay City” and tried to attract residents but failed and in 1913, another real estate investor renamed the community “Seal Beach” built a pier, pavilions and a fun zone and the city was incorporated in 1915. In 1944 the US Navy bought most of the land around the city to create a Navy Weapons Station for the Pacific Fleet.

Now Seal Beach is known as the “Small Town on the Beach” with less than 25,000 residents and only half of those located on the south side of the 405 freeway or actually close to the beach. Once the Navy built their base, the seawalls impacted the surf, so the beach is very family friendly with low waves.

Pros

  • Small town feel on the beach
  • Excellent schools
  • Great location next to Long Beach

Cons

  • Difficult to reach with traffic
  • Overcrowding on weekends, holidays and summers
