Discover Pasadena

Considered the twin city to downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena has a long and storied history. Incorporated in 1886, it was one of the first cities to do so, and it attracted many wealthy families since the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad ended its cross-country journey in Pasadena and luxury hotels opened making the city a large resort town. The first freeway, the Arroyo Seca Parkway, now the 110, linked Pasadena to downtown Los Angeles, making the city the perfect location for housing the wealthy businessmen of the city.

Pasadena is home to the Rose Bowl, the California Institute of Technology (CalTech), the annual Tournament of Roses Parade which attracts one million viewers and a nationwide audience, and many museums and galleries. The population stands at 137,000 and with 45% of households owner-occupied and a variety of housing including high rise condos, large estates and many older rentals.

Pros

  • Huge variety of housing
  • Racially diverse
  • Close to Downtown LA and transportation

Cons
